FUJIXP
FUJIXP (Federated Units of Japan Internet eXchange Point) is a Global Exchange Point for educational and research networks located in Tokyo, Japan. FUJIXP is hosted by CINJI(Coalition of Interoperable Networks for Japan and International) and operated by SINET(Science Information Network).
CINJI is an alliance of Japanese academic organizations which operate research and education networks. The main purposes of CINJI is to coordinate various issues concerning Japanese research and education networks. The current member of CINJI are MAFFIN, NICT, NII, and WIDE project. SINET is an NREN which connects over 1,000 universities and research institutions throughout Japan. SINET is built and operated by the National Institute of Informatics (NII).
FUJIXP offers connectivity for NRENs to accelerate research activities and international collaboration. We hope to contribute to global development and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and foster the collaboration at the world-wide level.
Through the collaboration with Asia Pacific Oceania Network (APOnet) , Asia-Pacific Europe Ring (AER) and Advanced North Atlantic consortium (ANA) , FUJIXP provides more resilient environments to academic community.
Services
- FUJIXP supports Layer 2 Ethernet connections with speeds of 10, 100 and 400Gbps.
- FUJIXP consists of multiple switches, which located in two data centers in Tokyo. FUJIXP also connects to GXP-Tokyo. NRENs can connect to GXPs at these data centers in Tokyo.
- If a NRENs obtain a connection at the exchange points, it is required to sign and submit the Connection Agreement to CINJI.
