SINET6 Architecture

SINET6’s network architecture follows that of SINET5, which featured ultra high performance and excellent reliability.

The latest architecture with high performance, secure and outstanding reliability incorporated into SINET6

SINET6’s network architecture follows that of SINET5, which featured ultra high performance and excellent reliability.

Data centers (including 20 additional data centers) are each comprising routers, wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical fiber transmission systems and Layer-2 Multiplexer (L2MUX).

  • Router: Connects to L2MUXs with two 400Gbps links which have been aggregated and balances traffic. Routers connect logical routers with VLANs
  • L2MUX: Connects with WDM via 400 Gbps lines and with another L2MUX via logical paths
  • WDM: Connects with another WDM via  400 Gbps wavelength paths

The service layer of the router consists of multiple logically separated network slices (logical systems (LS)) to realize high security.

  • IP dual slice: Providing IPv4/IPv6 Internet connection services
  • Line multiplex slice: Housing line multiplex systems for redundancy of access lines
  • Static VPN slice: Setting L3VPNs, L2VPNs, VPLSs, virtual university LANs and others
  • Dynamic VPN slice : Setting L2VPNs, VPLSs and others in an on-demand manner
  • Collaboration 1/2 slices : Preparing for various future connections and collaborations
  • Demonstrative evaluation slice: For testing advanced technologies

SINET6 has realized both ultra-high speed and low latency with full-mesh topology among domestic DCs (on the IP dual slice).
