FY2020 Applications for Demonstration Testing Using the SINET Wide Area Data Collection Infrastructure

The National Institute of Informatics will conduct a demonstration test that incorporates knowledge and improvements acquired from the past testing. It is aimed at expanding the research fields and the number of users.

What is the SINET Wide Area Data Collection Infrastructure?

The National Institute of Informatics (NII) operates Science Information NETwork, SINET, as scientific information infrastructure for universities and other institutions across Japan.
To support a wider range of research activities, it constructed a Wide Area Data Collection Infrastructure that employed mobile networks as a new means of connection to SINET. It then conducted a demonstration testing from FY2018 to FY2019.
Subsequently, it will be starting the next demonstration test in FY2020. Incorporating knowledge and operational improvements learned from performance evaluation. This testing is aimed at expanding research fields and the number of users. We invite you to take a look at the application guidelines and to submit your application.
